Bree was admitted to practise in 2007 and joined Douglas Hoskins Legal in 2017. Upon the retirement of Jim Douglas in 2018 Bree became a Partner of Douglas Hoskins Legal along with Shona Hoskins.
She has experience in many areas of the law, however, after several years of practice Bree discovered a passion for succession law and estate litigation. She has practised almost exclusively in these areas for more than 10 years, and is now a well-respected and sought after Wills and Estates practitioner in South Australia.
Bree specialises in all areas relating to Estate Planning and Deceased Estates, including Will drafting, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Advance Care Directives, Probate and Letters of Administration, estate litigation and practise including inheritance claims, disputes, and challenges to wills. Bree regularly appears in the Supreme Court of South Australia on behalf of executors, beneficiaries and claimants of deceased estates. She also accepts briefs to act as Litigation Guardian for minors and other vulnerable people who are unable to provide instructions for themselves in estate litigation matters.
Bree is experienced in representing various parties before SACAT (formerly the Guardianship Board) in relation to the guardianship and administration of elderly or vulnerable persons. This includes representing protected persons and their families in a range of different disputes, which may or may not include family conflict.
Bree is passionate about resolving disputes in a timely and cost-effective manner. She prides herself on being a friendly and approachable person while still advocating fiercely for her clients.
Bree has been consistently recognised by Doyle’s Guide each year since 2018, most recently being recognised as a Leading lawyer in the fields of both Estate Litigation and Succession Planning in 2022.
